Wonderful Weekend...to bad it had to end :(

Happy Monday ladies! Actually it isn't a very happy Monday because I did not want to come back to work after this weekend!

I took off Friday since we were heading out of town around lunch time. It was Presley's Harvest Fest at school, so I decided to go up there and spend the morning with her and all of her friends. I was really surprised to find that I was the only mom that came...how sad!

I took all of her classmates these little pumpkins...

My mom grew a little pumpkin patch this year, and she had all these little mini pumpkins that were just perfect for a bunch of 2 year olds.

The kids played lots of games, had their morning snack, and got their faces painted...it was a lot of fun!

We finally made our way out of Memphis about 1:00 on Friday...heading to Mt. View Arkansas hah! I laugh because everyone told me that there was absolutely nothing to do there, and boy were they right! But of course that was what we wanted. We didn't want to have anywhere we had to go or sites we had to see.

We were right on the river, so we took a little nature walk down to the water.

Our cabin was teeny tiny! But it was so cute and cozy...we can't wait to go back!

A lot of time was spent on the porch overlooking the river. The only sounds we heard were birds, crickets, and the occasional boat....it was a nice change of pace :)

Friday night we just stayed in at the cabin, grilled out our dinner, and put on our warm pj's and watched movies. Presley was out by 8...she had a long day :)

Saturday morning we all slept in. With a toddler, that translates into about 7 a.m ! Clinton cooked us a good ole' country breakfast, and we ate outside on the porch. Heaven :)

After breakfast, we headed to the Blanchard Caverns. Neither one of us really expected a whole lot out of this, but it was something to do. We were both so impressed and had such a great time. The cave was beautiful and it ended up being a great tour.

This column doesn't look very big, but it was about 60 or 70 feet tall. The cave itself stretched out 3 football lengths.

Presley was acting so silly taking pics with us...she had a blast :)

Afterwards we went to Blanchard Springs, where all of the water comes out from the caves.

Before we went down there, Presley went to the gift shop and picked out a little purse with Forrest trees on it that came with a baby fawn inside haha. The whole time she would say "hey baby deer...I love you baby deer." How sweet :)

Later that night we headed "into town" and had dinner at one of their 8 places they have hah! I tried like 10 times to get Miss P to smile and take a picture with me, but she wasn't having it.

Afterwards we walked around the town, listening to all the people sitting on the porches singing blue grass music. We were the only people under the age of 70...ok, there might have been a few more...but it was really nice and relaxing. We grabbed some ice cream and a bench and just relaxed for a little while.

And that was it! It was some much needed family time, and it was worth every minute! Then of course we got home...and for whatever reason, things just seemed to go down hill from there. Presley is getting sick, I had a midterm paper due last night by midnight that I hadn't started, and Jake had another seizure. Clinton is supposed to be traveling with work this week, so I might possibly be taking on all of this crap alone...while working and going to class. Lucky me. So needless to say, the relaxation I was feeling over the weekend, was gone by 3 yesterday afternoon. Bummer :(
I've called and left a message with the vet this morning so we can figure out what to do about Jake. I don't know if he has had any other seizures before yesterday, but one of them has been having accidents in the floor every day since Thursday. I can't imagine it would be Jake, but maybe he is having seizures...who knows. Then I started worrying about the week we're out of town in Phoenix. My bff was going to house sit/puppy sit, but I dont want her to deal with all that crap. So now I've booked a kennel for the boys during our vacay...all $340 of it! Shoot me now!!! I think I need another vacation just to recover from the last 18 hours :)

Sounds like a great vacation. But, boo the the icky things you came back to (don't you wish vacations could last forever!?!)

About your pup...when my dog was having seizures I thought he was having accidents too, but then I realized that it was drool, from the crazy amount of drool that went along with his seizures :-( Not sure if that is your case, but something to think about....
