30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 4...and WICKED!!!

Day 4

I love today's topic...Your Parents.

I love my parents. And just like everyone else, I think I have the best.

My daddy's name is Hunter... most our family call him by his first and middle name, Hunter Lee. (His grandfather's name was Hunter as well, so they had to call him by his middle name too so that people could differentiate between the two). Anyway, I was named Candice Lee after him, leading most of my family to call me Candy Lee. I loved that I was somewhat named after my father. So much so, that I wouldn't even drop my middle name when I got married...I dropped my maiden instead. I just couldn't imagine not being a Candy Lee :) Speaking of names...my dad is the one that picked out Candice. Wanna know why?? Candice Bergen...AKA Murphy Brown ha! And whats so ironic is my best friend Candice was named for the same reason...and because of her dad, too! What are the odds?!

Anyway, I'm a huge daddy's girl. I wanted to do everything he did, and go everywhere he went. When my sister would stay home with my mom or go shopping with her, I would go to the farm with my dad. He's just an amazing father. He never let us leave the house without giving us 10 hugs and kisses and telling us he loved us a hundred times. He's the one that did most of the talking about boys, relationships, and sex...what I should know about men, and what I shouldn't do haha. He told me 4 main things about boys/relationships growing up...

1. They all want "one" thing... don't let 'em fool ya.

2. Don't date anyone you wouldn't marry (not that I shouldnt date anyone unless I wanted to marry him...but don't waste my time with someone that I wouldnt' even consider. You have no idea how much this helped me in relationships)

3. If you think theres just one person out there for you, your wrong. You could live in a 100 different places and probably find someone that you could love and spend the rest of your life with. So dont settle.

4. You can fall in love with a bad person as easy as you can fall in love with a good person (his philosophy on staying clear from losers haha).

My dad just might be a genius if you ask me!

My mom :)

My mom and I have always had a great relationship. We butted heads growing up, as I'm sure most daughters did with their moms. It was mainly because we are just alike...hard headed as hell! My mom and I talk almost every single day, and I probably see her at least 3 times a week. We have so much in common that its scary. We both love doing crafty things, decorating....RE-decorating about every 6 months haha...going shopping, painting/re-doing furniture, small towns, old homes, HGTV, craft fairs...the works. Basically anything to give us an excuse to be creative or make something pretty... we're on it. She's an amazing mom, friend, and grandmother.

And I thought it was only fair to give a shout out to my in-laws, too.

They are my second family and I love them soooo much. I couldn't have hand picked better in-laws. I hear all these horror stories of girls and their MIL's...not the case here. Patti has 3 sons, but she treats her 3 DIL's like they are her own. Sam is amazing, too. He has a great personality and sense of humor. We always tease him about "politicking" because he knows someone everwhere he goes. And if he doesn't, he's gonna make a new friend while he's there!

And while I'm at it today....Wicked was AHHH-MAZING!!!!

Laura and I had the BEST time last night! We had a fabulous dinner at Majestic Grille...great food, great company :) Wicked was awesome...as I knew it would be! My favorite was Glenda...she was the highlight of the show for me!

The set was great, costumes were incredible, and the cast was fabulous! They did a wonderful job and I can't wait to see it again!

On a completely separate note...I was uploading these pics today and thought I would compare a picture of Laura and I before going to see Eclipse. I wanted to see if I could tell a difference in myself since it was prior to my 40 lb weightloss. Here it is...

I feel like my face looks like it was stung by a bumble bee and I was all swollen haha! Oh well, don't have to worry about that anymore!!!
Happy Friday Eve!!!
