30 DBC: Day 17...What I'm looking forward to!!!!

Day 17:

Something I'm looking forward to!

Honestly, there is a TON I'm looking forward to over the next few months! For those of you that don't know me that well, I'm a sucker for the holidays. October 1st is my 2nd favorite day of the year because its officially the kick-off for the holidays (in my book)!! I've already watched some Christmas movies, and I've been listening to Christmas music for a couple weeks now. And no, I'm not ashamed.

Of course I'm looking forward to this weekend...I get to take this sweet little girl to Zoo Boo with some of our best friends, then we're having a little cook-out on Sunday with some fam and friends before we go Trick-or-Treating!!

Another thing I'm looking forward to is our first "annual" fall party we're having next weekend!

My parents have a beautiful place on 5 acres, and we've always wanted to have some kind of little fall get-together there...especially since they built their barn a few years back. Well, until little P came along, we never really had much of a reason to do so. Now we're taking full advantage of it, and we're inviting some family and all of her friends to the fall party! We're having hayrides, bonfires, pumpkin painting, roasting hotdogs and smores, and all the kids can play with the horses, swing set, or her little playhouse. I can't wait to see how it goes!

As much as I'm looking forward to those two things and all other holiday related things to come, the #1 thing I'm looking forward to is traveling to Phoenix in THREE weeks to see my sister and BIL!

My sister has lived there for almost 3 years and I've yet to go and visit her! She moved a few weeks before P was born, and there has just never been a good time.

We are leaving the Friday before Thanksgiving and DRIVING alllll the way there. Prayers should begin right about NOW!

We're going to be there the whole week of Thanskgiving, so I'm so excited about spending the holidays with them at their home....I know it means a lot to her!

I'm also excited because we are going to see so many great things along the way, and when we get there, too!

We are driving to Amarillo, TX that first night. I've heard its a pretty neat town, but I'm looking forward to seeing the Cadillac Ranch!

We're going to drive through Santa Fe, New Mexico on Saturday which is one place I've always wanted to visit. I've never been anywhere with this kind of architect and style, so I can't wait.

Saturday evening we'll be meeting Crystal and Geoff in Flagstaff, AZ which is a couple hours north of Phoenix. We're meeting there so that we can be that much closer to the Grand Canyon...where we'll be heading on Sunday!!!

And brace yourselves for this....On Sunday night we will be getting back to Flagstaff and take a trip to the North Pole!!! Via the "Polar Express!!!"

Yep, thats right! My sister called me a few weeks ago and was like "You're gonna die when I tell you what I just found out" haha! Theres a train station in Flagstaff that takes you on a 30 minute ride to the "North Pole" to see Santa! The Conductor dresses up just like in the movie, all the kids are encouraged to wear their Christmas PJs, they serve hot chocolate and cookies on the way there as they read the story of the Polar Express! How stinkin' cute is this? (I'm probably more excited than Presley will be!) Then when you get to the North Pole, you meet Santa and his reindeer, and he rides back to town with you! AGHHH! I'm so excited I can't even stand it!!

Monday we're gonna head back towards Phoenix and stop in Sedona to do the Pink Jeep Tours. Sedona is soooo unbelievably gorgeous, so I can't wait!

Then the rest of the trip we'll be spending some QT with Crystal, Geoff and his family! His mom is flying in from D.C and his dad and step-mom are coming from Alaska...It'll be the first time we've all spent a holiday together! How awesome is that?!
Sorry to ramble so much, but I just can't wait to see all these new places and spend some time with my family. So there you have it...these are the MANY things I'm looking forward to over the next few weeks!
