Thankful Thursday!!

Hola ladies! Happy Thursday!

In case you don't know about it, Elizabeth at Musing Experiences has started Thankful Thursday! I think its such a great idea to take a moment and think about all your many, many blessings!

Here are some specific things I'm thankful for today:

* Presley is 100% She is back to her sweet, hyper, bouncing-0ff-the-wall, just-like-her-daddy, self!

* Clinton is feeling great today! No more stomach bug!

* I am on the road to recovery, too, hah! I went to the doctor and I do not have strep or bronchitis...just a good ole' persistent cold! I start my Z-pak today and should be good to go here shortly!

* I just realized this morning that I am almost half way through this semester!

* I have NOTHING planned this weekend and I'm ecstatic! Even though I have enough homework to keep me busy, its ok....because...I am almost half way through the semester!

So those are just a few of things I'm the most thankful for today :) I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I think I wanna just stay home with the fam and watch some of my favorite movies.

Speaking of movies....

This morning me and some ladies at work were talking and I mentioned how I wanted to watch "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" this weekend because I heard the song on the radio this morning. I love that movie...it just takes me back to my childhood :)

Anyways we somehow drifted to talking about movies, and this girl Ashley that we work with informed us that she has not seen the MOST amazing movie of all time...

STEEL MAGNOLIAS! HOW IS THAT FREAKIN POSSIBLE?? I mean, it is pretty much a rite of passage if you live in the south!

THENvwe asked her if she has seen Fried Green Tomatoes... she said she "wasn't sure!!!" By this time we are all in complete shock!!

THEN....we start listing off some good ole' 80's classics and we find out that she hasn't seen When Harry Met Sally OR the Breakfast Club!!!

Needless to say, we pretty much got nothing done the first 45 minutes of work because we were quoting lines of all those movies and telling her how extremely important it was that she sees them...NOW! So we're all doing our friendly duties and bringing her these movies to watch ASAP!

Now if Clinton were here, he'd get on his little soapbox about how Ive never seen an Indiana Jones or Star Wars movie...or ET...yada yada yada...or other crap like that. But come on!! Thats not even the same!

I really feel like an old woman though. This other girl we work with is only about 5 years younger than me, but she had never watched Footloose or Flashdance...never even heard of them....until I brought them to her last year! How is this possible?! It really bothers me that there is an entire generation of girls out there that don't about these movies!!

Well, I can only do what I can do. Presley will surely know about them...thats a fact!

Anyways, happy Thursday! Make it a great day ladies!

No way! That is just plain craziness. Those are some fantastic movies! Your post makes me want to watch Breakfast Club like right now!

(I've never seen Flashdance OR Footloose though... don't hate ;-))

My Dad has a list of movies that my sister and I had to watch by the time we moved out at 18. We always had such a fun time watching movies throughout the movie. It's a great tradition you should definitely start with Presley! :-) Glad to hear that you're all (almost) starting to feel better!

that's just a straight cryin' shame. i'm pretty sure you just listed all my ALL-TIME favorites in that list. poor girl, she's definately been deprived. but i MUST SAY missy, YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ET or Indiana Jones!?!?! go GET them now (or watch them w/ your hubby)! they're greatness! i will have to say so are star wars, but i'm that whole "harry potter/twilight/lord or the rings" sci-fi nerd, so you MAY not like it ... but the other two, DEFINATE must haves!!!

thanks for the flashback today!!!
