I hope y'all are having a great week so far! I can't believe tomorrow is Wednesday. This week is all out of whack for me.
So today I kinda had a mini breakdown because I realized that Presleys birthday party is a week from Saturday and I still have SOOO much to do!
I'm one of those crazy mom's that starts thinking about their child's birthday 6 months before it gets here. Seriously...I started planning Presleys birthday when she was 6 months old. No kidding....I wish I was. I'm the same way about every holiday, too. I know some people think I'm over the top, and maybe I am. But I just want to make every birthday and holiday as special as possible.
So this year for her birthday, I decided on a garden theme! I wanted flowers, lady bugs, bumble bees...the whole 9! I'm trying my hardest not to focus too much on ladybugs, but there is just too much cute stuff out there for a ladybug party!
The cake is going to be 2 tiers...bottom layer will be green with bright flowers and the top layer will be sky blue with clouds. Then she's going to add ladybugs and bumble bees all about. Presley is going to have an individual cake that is red with black polka dots like a lady bug!
This of course is based on the fact that his woman gets back to me asap! We have literally emailed each other back and forth 20 times and I'm getting a little annoyed. If I dont know something by Friday, Im going to a local bakery and being done with it.
Anyways, all my wonderful friends have given me some super cute ideas. Here are some things that I have in mind:
* "ants on a log" (celery, peanut butter, then raisins on top)
* mini fruit pizzas that look like a lady bug on top (strawberries for wings, blueberry for head)
* red punch with blueberries to mimic a ladybug
* candy bar
Leigh also gave me the idea of painting black stripes on yellow balloons to mimic a bumble bee, and black polka dots on red balloons for ladybugs. I'm going to make a cute "Little Lady" banner to hang over the fireplace, and also some tissue paper flowers to hang over the table (see pic below). I hope everything turns out like I picture it in my head. It usually doesn't, but I'm gonna try!
Here are the invites!
And here are the flowers I made!
1. Get a pack of tissue paper, 10 sheets.
2. Fold in 1 inch segments, accordion style
3. Tie the center with a rubber band, wire, etc
4. Cut the two ends to look like a triangle
5. Start fanning out all the pieces and VOILA!
These 3 flowers cost me a total of $3 and took about 20 minutes. Good Luck!

Girl, you are on top of things! How cute will her party be! I can't wait to see pics!!!
It is going to be SO great! Love the invites. FYI I tried these paper balls....but I am notorious for being a cheap a*s so I used by thin dollar store tissue haha and it tore to shred when I was pulling it apart. Note to self: stop buying cheap tissue paper!
Ahhh, everything is SO cute! I love the balloon ideas too! :-) You all will have soo much fun!
Wow you are amazing! those invites are adorable and so are the flowers...good job lady! Looks great!
It was good to see you last night! Her invitations are adorable (but I'm partial to ladybugs since that is how we did Lyl's nursery). Her party will be wonderful-I'm sure! Hobby Lobby has a ton of cute garden things including ladybugs and bumble bees.
