Hello bloggers

I'm chillin' at home today. I guess I have a little bit of a stomach bug. Its definitely not as bad as it could be, but its enough. Believe me.

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever, but I guess it's only been since Friday. This weekend went by in a flash! We were some busy little bees! Friday night Clinton and I tried out this new restaurant called Slim Skillets. And no, it isn't healthy food at all. False advertisement if you ask me haha. Just kidding. It was really good, but not somewhere I could eat a lot. There is only one decision to make...do you want 2 or 4 pieces of fried chicken? Its served family style so all the sides come out in bowls, and its unlimited portions. If you live in the Memphis area and like fried chicken, you should try it out.

Saturday night we celebrated Valentine's day by going to Belmont Grill. It is probably about the least romantic please to eat in Memphis, but its our fave so we spend every Vday there :) We came home and got down and dirty...painting haha.

Sunday was so busy that we didn't even get to give Presley her Valentine's gifts till that evening. We picked her up from my moms on the way to church, then ate some lunch and went to the funeral home. One of my neighbors/family friend passed away on Friday. Ive never seen so many people at one visitation.

Here are P's Vday gifts....

Of course, this was her favorite....

Oops...I almost forgot! Saturday morning we went to one of our friends for her little boys First birthday! Here is Clinton with sweet little Olive. He is having some major baby fever and didn't want to put her down!

Mommy and birthday boy!

He was lovin' some cake!

So here are some latest pics of Presley. The other night I walked into her playroom to find her doing this...

Isn't she sweet?!

This was the other night at bedtime...

Pres with all her friends at bed time. Introducing left to right...
Her baby, floppsy, lamb, blanket, and baby elmo.

And I'm finally able to post some pics of her room makeover! Clinton painted Saturday night after dinner, so we're finally getting there.

I had this canvas painted for her nursery, but I think I'm gonna keep it.

My mom made this chandelier for her nursery, too. We found one for about $500 at a store, and my mom was like "Oh I can do that"...and she did! She bought the chandelier part at a consignment store for $20, the rabbit from hobby lobby...half off of course....for about $10, drilled a hole in it, and Voila! The most expensive part were the shades and I only paid like $8 each for them. Then I just added some trim to them and there you have it!

Clinton actually found these 2 bookcases on a job. The guy was throwing them away and Clinton asked if he could have them. When he brought them home, I threw a fit...they were so ugly! Plus her room is so tiny that I thought it would look even smaller. I finally let him "try them out" and I loved them. Yes, I was wrong...and I'm reminded of it often.

A few of my favorite things....
I took this picture in the hospital while we were waiting to check out. I love how peaceful she is here.

Love this verse....very true!

Well thats all I have for today. I'm so exhausted so I think Im going to get some more rest. So much for working from home today. Bye!
