Wishful Wednesday!

'I wish' I could relive one particular holiday experience over and over again, and it would be....

to be a kid again at Christmas time!

I love Christmas now more than any other time of year, but it will never compare to the feelings I had as a child at Christmas time!

There are three things that come to my mind the second I think about my childhood Christmas memories:

First...this album!

I have no idea where my mom found this album, but it somehow found its way into our family when we were little bitty! It had all these silly Christmas songs on it, and we absolutely loved it. Every Black Friday we would wake up, do a little shopping, then come home and crank up the record player (yes, I said record player) and start decorating the house from top to bottom. We would play it over and over again until every bit of the house had been decorated. One year when we went to get the album out of the attic, we found that the heat had ruined it. We were all so sad because we couldn't find it anywhere. Then one Christmas a few years ago my mom and I opened a Christmas gift from my sister, and she had made us a copy of it on a cd. She found ONE copy online, so she made sure to burn us a copy. I still listen to it every Christmas and can't wait to share this tradition with Presley.

Second....the tree!

As a child, we never had the perfect trees you see on tree lots or at the Home Depot. And we never had fake trees that had no imperfections. We always had your plain ole' cedar tree. You know, the ones that are so dainty that you can barely put any ornaments on it without them drooping. I remember complaining about this as a child because I thought it was so ugly. Now looking back at our pictures, I dont even see the "tree" anymore. I only see the memories! We would pile up in my dad's truck and drive to his farm so we could find that perfect "imperfect" tree! I dont think there is any better memory than walking through the woods to pick out your Christmas tree, cutting it down, and dragging it for what seemed like 10 miles back to your truck haha!

And my favorite memory of all....waking up in the morning all by myself (about 2:30 or 3:00 haha), walking into the living room, turning on the Christmas tree, and just sitting in front of it thinking about how beautiful it was. I would just sit for hours...and every once in a while I would play with my new stuff a little bit haha.

So when I think about my favorite childhood Christmas memories, these 3 take the cake! I cant wait to relive these moments through Presley and our little Pairs to come!
