OK moms...

Happy Monday ladies!!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I sure did...well, kinda. But more of that will come tonight. I'm gonna try and upload some pics too.

Now, on to a question for all you moms...or heck, anyone with a suggestion!

I feel like Im in a slump when it comes to feeding Presley. When she was on baby food, and just beginning to eat table food, I felt like she always had a really balanced meal. I always made sure she ate plenty of fruits and veggies. Now that shes older and only eating table food, she has become so much pickier!! Now, she will tear up some fruit and cheese...she is that much like her mama! But she will barely eat any meat at all. The only way I can get her to eat meat is with chicken nuggets, which are not good for her at all. And she won't even think about veggies anymore. It just really stresses me out!

Ok...now don't criticize me because I am NOT one of those anal moms that freak out over the fact that their daughter might be overweight one day. BUT, as yall know, I do have a weight problem. So I want Presley to be raised eating healthy foods and learning to truly enjoy them. And sometimes I do get a little freaked out when people continuously give her junk food. I want her to have candy and sweets, but in very limited amounts.

So first of all, I need some different things to try with Presley. The only foods I can pretty much count on her eating are pbj's, cheese, fruit, chicken nuggets, eggs, and mac and cheese....oh, and candy. Lots of candy. And her sweet daddy thinks that she should get a piece whenever she says "nandy." Lord help me.

Also, where do yall stand on sweets/candy with your children? Am I crazy for not wanting her to have that stuff? I dont want to turn into one of those psycho moms, but I just dont want her facing the same battles I did for so many years.

Thanks for any advice! Hope yall have a good day today!

We sound much alike in this aspect! For the boys, they can have candy, not every day and just on special occassions. When I fix food, even if they don't like it, I will put it on the plate and let them try it, if they don't try it, it's ok, they will not starve, but continue to give her that food because one day she might like it. I do let them have fruit drinks, but only 100% juice boxes, they drink lots of water and I do give them chicken nuggets. I also call my baked chicken, chicken nuggets and they eat it without realizing it is not a nugget :) Try giving her yogurt and fruits, I think most kids for some reason stop eating veggies for awhile, my boys are just now getting back to liking it. Just stay strong and know that she will not starve, but when you do feed her, be sure it's healthy and then you will know you have done all you can do!

I know it's frusterating though!!!

Also, try not to give her surprises by candy. for example when potty training the boys, I never gave them candy or food for a reward, or I never gave them food while upset or something to comfort them. I think that is my problem as a child and now I struggle with my weight...
