Just another manic Monday....

I am sure that all of y'all were dreading this work day just as much as I was! It was pure bliss being off the past 4 days...despite that Presley and I were sick the whole time!

Christmas Eve was absolutely wonderful! It was the first that I can remember in my lifetime that I did not get out and go shopping....but it was so nice and relaxing! I loved waking up and lounging around the house with Clinton and Pres in our pj's...nowhere to go and nothing to do till that afternoon....aghhh. However, this was the first time in a long, long time that we missed the Candlelight service. It was cold and raining and Presley had not had a nap, so we decided to stay at the Pair house...then that led to everyone else staying, too. But we enjoyed taking it slower and not being in such a rush.

Growing up, Clinton and his parents and brothers always went to their grandfathers house late Christmas Eve. His cousins (which are all boys too...good lord I cant imagine 6 little boys running around at one time) would also come up to his grandfathers and they would spend every Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with each other. They would read the story of Jesus' birth and then sing Happy Birthday and eat cake. Obviously as all the boys got married and started having children, we didn't go to their grandparents house anymore But for whatever reason, they never continued that tradition. Well, we picked it back up this year! After dinner we read the bible, then opened gifts, and had birthday cupcakes for dessert! It was probably one of the best Christmas Eves Ive had in years.

We also started a new tradition on Christmas morning and I absolutely loved it! Now that Presley is in the picture, our parents want to come over and see what Santa brought her. Last year when this was mentioned, it kinda bothered me. I wanted Christmas morning to be something special for Clinton and I and our children...not everyone else. But I went ahead this year and invited both our parents and his grandmother over for breakfast and to see all Presleys gifts.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!

At the end of the day, its just always more special sharing moments and memories like these with the people you love the most. I'm sure as Presley gets older and we add more children to the mix we might have to delay how early they get there...but this will definitely be a new tradition for our family!

I'll try and post some pics this week. I have a list a mile long of all the projects I wanna tackle before school starts back. Im turning our guest bedroom into Presleys play room...thats how bad we've run out of space. I dont see how we'll ever have a second child in that house. I was so frustrated this weekend that I pretty much mapped out an entire 2 year plan for Clinton and I haha!

I hope all of you had a fabulous Christmas as well!! I can't wait to see your blogs and hear your stories! Have a wonderful week!!
