6 years and counting....

Today is mine and Clintons SIX year anniversary! Where in the world did the time go???!!!!

We had a great anniversary today. I'm not really one for celebrating v-day or anniversaries. I'm perfectly happy with going to our favorite restaurant and calling it a day. We always agree to not get each other anything, but Clinton always manages to cheat.

I dont know if I've mentioned it yet, but Clinton built us a really nice deck with a pergola covering the entire thing. So for my gift he bought me some flower pots and hanging baskets. I loved them! They were beautiful! So....I took them all back. Hah! I'm sorry, but $160 for 3 flower pots and 3 hanging baskets is just not happening. One pot alone costs $60!!! SIXTY DOLLARS for a flower pot???!!!! Yes, it was pretty...but NOT that pretty!
*
So tonight we were going to take them back before we went to dinner. I had been eyeing those plastic Adirondack chairs at Home Depot. They had a light blue, lime green, and red one that looked really good together. Well they were about $17 a piece...great price, right? Well, Clinton thought they were cheap, so that idea went out the window.

As we were getting ready to leave, we saw some wooden ones that were only $30 each!!! I mean, the quality probably isn't as good as the $200 ones you see everywhere. But, hey...they'll do! So he bought me 3 of them and then some red, lime green, and light blue paint! TA-DA!!!!

Afterwards we went to Belmont Grill. Its this little hole-in-the-wall bar that we LOVE. Its our fave place to eat in Memphis. We were going to go somewhere different and nice, but we changed our mind literally 2 seconds before we got there. I'm glad we did :) It was a great time!
*
Then we went to Target (my 3rd trip for the day) so I could look for these chair cushions ONE LAST TIME before I ordered them online. We were trying to kill some time before running by my bff's house (the one who just moved back this week), and low and behold they were in the Target parking lot getting ready to leave! Perfect timing!

We only got to visit for about 45 mins. Memphis has had some NASTY weather this weekend. It's flooding everywhere!!!! Seriously...y'all might be reading a blog from me later on about how our house has flooded. I'm gonna take some pics tomorrow so yall have an idea of just how bad it is. Insane! Tornado alarms have been going off all day, too. Did I mention I'm deathly afraid of Tornado's? Clinton always makes fun of me because I make sure I'm 'fully' dressed. He always tells people I get my running shoes on with my identification in my back pocket. FYI...I don't. He tends to exaggerate.
*
Anyway, the storms are suppose to be worse tomorrow than today. Hopefully thats not true. A town about 20 minutes from us is about 50% flooded. So if you think about it, say a little prayer for us in TN, MS, and AR....there are a lot of people in some ugly situations this weekend!

Happy Anniversary! I love your pictures. And I might add I am TOTALLY jealous as to how incredibly fabulous you looked after giving birth!

Isn't the flooding crazy? We had a building floating down the interstate here in Nashville! We are trapped in our house. Thankfully, our house is fine it is just the road we live off of (and no one else's house is in danger either). Crazy stuff!
