O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!

I have been sloooow at decorating this year. We always decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but being out of town threw me off entirely. I haven't even gotten to my outdoor decorations at all :(

I decided to do a little something different this year. I've been on the whole red and lime green kick for a few years, and although I still love it, it was time for something different.

Well, my newest obsession in all decorating aspects is the whole robin egg blue/turquoise that everyone is using. I saw I a tree online that had the light blues mixed in with red for the whole vintage look, and I fell. in. love.

Obviously, I wasn't able to do exactly what I wanted because it would cost me a small fortune to completely re-do my entire tree. So this year I thought I would start by adding some blue Christmas ornaments (above), as well as some really pretty ribbon I purchased by the yard at Hobby Lobby.

I went ahead and kept a few of the lime ornaments, and also use lots of silver, too.

And this was the end result. Its really hard to tell because of the flash from my camera, but you get the idea.

Something about using lots of colors, and branching away from just red and green, took me back to my childhood days. I guess its the closest I can get without using colored Christmas lights hah!

Anyway, decorating the Christmas tree each year really is one of my favorite things about the holidays. I have a slight obsession with buying ornaments, too. Seriously, I didn't realize till I got back in town after Thanksgiving that I had come home with TEN new ornaments. I know, I know...I need help! Here are some of my faves :)

I purchased this one in NYC for Presley's first Christmas.
And since she was only 9 months old by Christmas, it was near impossible to get the child's handprint. So instead, I bought some clay that you can bake and I outlined her hand and made a little mitten, then decorated it. It really is not very cute, but I love looking at it and thinking about how little she was then.
My Sweetboy Jake's first Christmas!

A few I've collected over the years on vacation....Macys in NYC!

I LOVE NY!
All three of these are from different trips to NYC

Vegas Baby!

And I just got this one in Scottsdale, Arizona...a pepper with cute little ear muffs and a scarf ha!

And just because I love blown glass ornaments, here you go...

I also did a new theme for sweet little P, too.

And I had to throw these on there...they were mine when I was little bity! They came in a McDonalds happy meal hah!

There you have it...our trees! Hopefully I will get around to decorating the rest of the house this week before I completely talk myself out of it! Have a good one!
